St Kitts and Nevis Patriots vs Barbados Tridents, Today match prediction 25 Aug -CPL 2020

>Today Match Prediction Detail

This is the 11th game of the Caribbean Premier League 2020 and will be important for both sides. Defending champions Barbados Tridents have lost their last two matches here and need success from here. Their opponents St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots appear to be in a worse position having lost all three of their games so far and need to get their first points of the season.

The two sides had met earlier in the season where the Tridents won the game by 6 runs. It was a close encounter, but it would certainly increase confidence in the camp of the Tridents. Both sides have had their struggles so far, but the Patriots have not held their own in close games. Their fans want a turnaround from them and it remains to be seen whether they are able to play positively in the next game.

St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots

Three defeats from three matches, Rayad Emrit’s side are currently sitting at the bottom of the points table. They simply did not get involved in their work as the bowlers and batsmen failed to complement each other. They went down by 10 runs in a high scoring encounter against St. Lucia Zoux in the last game. Another loss would reduce his chances of reaching the semi-finals. Emrit’s side was to deliver his best performance in the game.

Chris Lynn and Evin Lewis need to end their habit of starting. This is putting pressure on the rest of the batting. Joshua da Silva, Ben Dunk and Kiran Powell need to be given in the middle order which they have failed to do. Dinesh Ramdin is looking in good form at the moment. This side does not bat very deep and the likes of Sohail Tanvir and Amrit will have to contribute in this order.

It was his bowling attack that knocked him down in the last game as the pair of Sheldon Cottrell and Tanvir scored with the new ball. He will have to perform better given his lack of experience in the bowling attack. Amrit did well in the last game and the captain would expect good support from John-Ras Jageser and Ish Sodhi during the middle overs in the upcoming game.

Barbados Tridents

Jason Holder has had a rough deal in favor since wins against the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots in the first game. The defending champions have lost back-to-back games against St. Lucia Jokes and Trinbago Knight Riders. They lost by 19 runs against the Knight Riders. Holder would like his team to win against the Patriots beforehand and advance to the points table with a win in this game.

The good news for the team is in the form of openers Johnson Charles and Shai Hope who performed well in the last match and will need a good start. Corey Anderson’s form is a major concern for the side and they will have to deliver the goods in the next game. We have seen the good form of Jonathan Carter, Kyle Meyers and Holder.

Their bowlers have failed in the last two matches and Holder will have to take early wickets in the company of Kyle Meyers. Rashid Khan is not at his best so far and will need to upset the Patriots batsmen. Ashley Nurse and Hayden Walsh also have great skills and want to put their side to victory against the Patriots’ fragile batting order.

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots vs Barbados Tridents, Today match prediction

There will be anticipation in both camps going to the games. The St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots will have to earn their first points here to survive but the team’s current form will not be driven with much confidence. Barbados Tridents, on the other hand, have two bad games despite being one of the strongest teams in the tournament. They are looking to break this defeat against the Patriots. They are a much better side on paper and it will make them the favorites to win this match.

Our Match Winner Tips

Weather condition

The sky is expected to clear over Trinidad on 25 August and we hope to see good cricket. It is a fresh pitch and so we expect pace and bounce for the fast bowlers as the batsmen will have to watch in the early overs of the game. There will be some turns for spinners as well. The team batting first will target a score of over 165 runs on this surface.

Location Details

Queen’s Park Oval, Port of Spain, Trinidad has been a friendly wicket as a batsman where we have scored a lot. T20 matches are given a lot of chances. The fast bowlers get a chance early in the game when the ball is new. The spinners have done well here as there is a good change on the surface.

Toss: to bowl

In this tournament till now we have preferred most teams to win the toss and bowl first. Pitches have been difficult and it will be on a fresh surface where the ball is expected to rotate slightly. Therefore, captains should not have much hesitation in batting opponents first.
