Caribbean Premier League starting in Trinidad on 18 August.
Tournament organizers have had to overcome many challenges to organize the tournament, but Barbados Tridents have signed a specific list of players to bid to defend their title.
Although travel restrictions have reduced the availability of some players, West Indian stars such as Andre Russell and Kieron Pollard are on board, while Ross Taylor, Imran Tahir and Colin Munro are among the foreign stars.
The Tridents have lost some key players from last season’s title win, although they still claim a strong team, while the Guyana Amazon Warriors and Jamaican Tallawahs also have some big-name T20 match winners in their squad.
The Amazon Warriors have been named as joint-favorites with Trinbago Knight Riders alongside bookmakers.

West Indies captain Jason Holder leads the Tridents, while 2019 Player of the Series Hayden Walsh Jr. and star batsman Shai Hope also retain. After the Tribals won the tournament last season, Walsh took 22 wickets in just nine matches, defeating the Guyana Amazon Warriors in the final. Four of the top five wicket-takers of last season were Barbados Trident bowlers, while Johnson Charles led the team's batting. Ray Kidd has captained as the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots - who reached each play-off in the last three years, but never won the title - look to go further this year.
